UpGum is made by Good Company Health, a small South African company run by brothers Casper and Gouws from Centurion.
Caffeine is part of how a lot of South Africans get through the day: studying, training, driving and working long shifts. We kept asking why nobody here made a serious caffeinated chewing gum, so we set out to make one.
How we made it
Gum is harder to get right than it looks. We spent months vetting suppliers and testing formulas for texture, flavour and aftertaste, and for the same caffeine amount in every piece. Each regular piece has 60 mg of caffeine. Double has 90 mg.
Why a tin
A slide-open metal tin keeps the gum dry, fits in a pocket, and lasts long after the last piece. It's the part of UpGum people keep.
Where it's made
UpGum is designed and packaged in South Africa and manufactured in China by a supplier we chose for consistent quality at scale.
